THE SUN, THE WALK, THE TIME TO NOTICE


The sun shines, the Earth warms
The Earth warms, we stretch our limbs,
Roll out of bed
Stretch our feet down onto the floor
Walk to the door, open, go..
Outside
Breathe the air
Take a walk
Follow our breathing

Ah, that feels nice, breathing and knowing

See if we can keep our minds empty
Feel, sense our feet as they step
Notice the light and images coming in our eyes
Enjoy the sounds coming in our ears
Follow the breathing

Oh, my! Who has time for that,
the simple exultation of pure Being?
Maybe later,
on a vacation, or something.
Not today, not now, surely not today, not now.
