what's important

if I ask the question,
what's important,
I could at least he honest and qualify it:
What's important, to whom?

To me.
To the human race.
To most people.
To the Earth.
To the evolution of humanity.
To my finding a community of like minded people.
To my writing something worth reading today?

All are good starters.

So, let's switch it around:
What's important to you?

How did your year go?
Was there more love?
More learning?
Did you plant any trees? (I didn't, and the year is not over yet)
Did you make any new friends?
Did anyone you know become an un-friend, and can you still love them?

Were you hurt, frightened, or angry, and have you used that to create
gold for yourself,
or at the very least compost?

What is a year for?

What are we for?

What is today for?

Who have we helped?
Who would we more like to help?

When was the fun?
Was the fun a time a healing, a time of release, a time of growth,
a time of escape, a time of learning and achieving,
all of the above
none of the above?

Anything fun so far today?

Any awakened moments so far today?

What is today for?

What are we for?

Does next year matter if today is not lived right?

What would living today right mean?

What questions would you write down,
if you were to spend ten minutes with pencil and paper?

day 107, this is my life

This is my life

Yes, we’ve been here before, and we are always here.

This is your life.

What do you love? Is there a way of loving more people and parts of yourself and life today?

This is my life.

How much can I savor and enjoy and spread happiness today.

This is my life?

What’s next?

Can I stay excited and enthusiastic about the possibilities of what could be next?

And we do get tired. And not so enthusiastic at times, and this is our life at these times.

To be present to tiredness: this is my life.

To be present to our breathing: this is my life.

To be present to not knowing what is coming next: this is my life.

To be present to following each breath: this is my life.

Ten fingers, ten toes, belly eyes ears nose: this is my life.

Reading this book: this is my life.

Putting down this book: this is my life.

Good.

Exulting the Changing Seasons

bee on flower

Exulting the Changing Seasons

today is cool in the morning
it was cold last night
warm to almost hot yesterday

ah, fall,
falling open into our lives

change
of leaves
of temperature
of our lives
if you are me,
and the sweetie
and I are going to travel apart

so sad.
no,
joking,
so sweet.

is fall sad,
or an awakening
into newness

each day is that:
sad because yesterday
is totally, irrevocably gone

or a sweet blast of now:
new to each moment
we are awake to the moment

good

Sunday in the Days of Our Lives

Isa and the marl

rain yesterday
sun today

"lots to do"
or
lots "to do"
today

almost tired
"thinking" about
it

and to come back
to sensing
and now

one breath
at a time
and
there is
just
this "to do"

be
alive
and
know
i am
we are
alive
